How do we keep our crops organic?

It starts with the soil – Green Mountain Organic Farm uses a blend of vermicast and cocopeat. These are rich with micro-organisms that ensure our plants are grown healthily. 

Seedlings – Our company only uses non-genetically-modified-organism seeds; which are potted and treated delicately, before transferring to our seedling fields. Then, it is treated and cultivated with various organic matter. Lastly it is left to grown under the watchful eye of our well-trained farmers, given rich soil for the production of healthy micro-organisms that help give our produce more nutrition.

 

How do we protect our crops from pests and diseases?

Crop Rotation - To protect our crops form diseases and proliferations of pest we rotate the crops. This procedure confuses the pests that exists in the area.

Companion Plants - We surround the farm with flowers like marigold and cosmos to invite beneficial insects that drives away harmful insects.

UV Tunnels - This covers our plots and prevents infestation. This also serves as a cover that protects the plants from too much heat from the sun and excess rain water.

Manual Picking - We manually remove the insects to prevent them from multiplying.
